How to Clean a Clearlight® Sauna

OUR BLOG

Did you know that your sauna should be cleaned regularly? In this post, we take a look at some great cleaning tips for keeping your sauna in top condition.

Stay True to Your Health

Many of us choose to install our own sauna because we value our health and wellbeing very highly. The benefits that come with regular, or even daily, use of an infrared sauna are well documented. So why commit that effort to staying healthy and then use harsh, artificial chemicals to clean your sauna?

Consider using natural products to clean your sauna. We recommend mixing organic cider vinegar with water in a 1 to 3 ratio and gently sponge and clean the interior.

Don’t forget to clean the floor of your sauna either. This can be vacuumed or brushed down, and then washed with the same solution you used on the rest of the sauna.

Stains in Your Clearlight® Sauna

Over time, it might be that your sauna could develop a stain or two, whether that’s from a spilled drink or sweat.

Your best bet for getting rid of unsightly marks is to scrub the surface with stiff brush. If this doesn’t do the trick, you could also try a light grain sandpaper to remove the stain.

On the outside

Many users choose to install their saunas inside their homes, to facilitate ease of use. However, if you choose to assemble your sauna outside, it’s important to keep up with your maintenance.

A pressure-wash of the outside every now and then will help. Although you can’t use varnish or paint on the outside of your sauna, you could consider a polish to add protection against the elements.

Build quality

The best way to preserve your sauna for the long-term is to make sure it is assembled correctly in the first place.

Fortunately, if you live within 100km of one of our stores, our expert team can assemble it for you. If not, our intuitive assembly method means it takes the average person under 30 minutes to get their sauna put together.
