What is Infrared Therapy?
Before we dive into the technology, let’s first take a look at the basics of infrared therapy. Infrared heat therapy uses wavelengths of both the visible and non-visible light spectrum of sunlight, which heats the body normally.
The human body can benefit from sunlight in many ways, such as warmth to help regulate temperature and vitamin D for energy and overall health.
There are three levels of infrared heat, which benefit the body in different ways:
- Near Infrared Heat: Targets the surface of the skin which makes you feel better physically, rejuvenates the skin, raises your core body temperature, boosts your immune system, and improves circulation. Many people enjoy near infrared heat for the pain relief that it can provide.
- Mid Infrared Heat: Targets the soft tissue which helps with pain relief, improved circulation and even weight loss.
- Far Infrared Heat: This infrared heat penetrates deeply into the body which can aid in detoxification, increase your metabolism, aid in weight loss, and help to reduce stress, among other health benefits.

The human body is compromised of 70% water. When far infrared waves penetrate the body, the water molecules begin to vibrate, reducing the ion bonds. When the water molecules in your body eventually break down, the encapsulated gases and other toxic materials can be released.
TrueWave™ Full Spectrum Technology
All Jacuzzi® Sauna models are equipped with TrueWave™ Full Spectrum infrared heaters. The heaters are designed for higher outputs, enabling them to produce near, mid and far infrared.
With 1,000 watts of full spectrum infrared, sauna owners and users can expect improvements in their health and lifestylethat are not only rapid, but of higher quality.
TrueWave™ Far Infrared Heaters combine both carbon and ceramic materials, so they can provide sauna owners with high-quality, long-wave infrared heat in a way that is powerful. They emit more infrared heat over a longer timespan, enabling them to be more effective and therapeutic with a wider range.
The heaters are compromised of micro-thin carbon fibres that are 1/1000th the thickness of a strand of hair. They are combined with patented micro-fine ceramic compound for a higher infrared output, also known as emissivity.

Full Spectrum Sauna Technology
While inside of a Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna, the user is surrounded by infrared heat. This heat is generated by the TrueWave™ far infrared heaters, which are located on the back, side walls, under the bench, next to your calves, and in the floor of the sauna.
On the front wall, you can find TrueWave™ full spectrum heaters. All infrared heating technology is low EMF and low ELF, resulting in a safe and reliable option.

These heaters are safe and tested to ensure the best experience possible for all of our customers. Once production is complete, each sauna is assembled and tested for hours as part of a rigorous quality control process. The sauna is then disassembled, packaged and shipped to your front door.
